We are delighted and very proud to introduce you to the Daisy Chain.
Kayti took her International Montessori Diploma in 1999, with the hope that at some point we could open a nursery of our own. Finally, having had our two children Sophie and Imogen, we found the perfect building in Havant Road and our dream started to take shape. A year later we created our pre-school, Daisy Chain at Westbourne. We are extremely proud that Ofsted rate both our nurseries as ‘Outstanding’.
Our criteria for opening and running a nursery have always been clear. We want to provide a happy atmosphere where children can develop their self-confidence, a place where they can learn through play in a safe, warm and caring environment. We feel we can genuinely offer your child a ‘home from home’, which we believe is imperative during these early years.
Having two children of our own, we understand the needs, aspirations and anxieties of parents. We know the standards that parents require, and we will strive on a daily basis to exceed these standards.
We do hope you will visit us and we look forward to meeting you and your family.

About our Nursery in EmsworthBuilt in 1895, the building benefits from spacious rooms and high ceilings. The ground floor caters for children between 2¼years and school age. We call these groups "Squirrels" and “Wise Owls”. The layout provides children with access to the garden both for free play and for learning which is a fundamental goal of the National Curriculum. The conservatory is available for water and messy play, arts and crafts, and physical play, and acts as a wonderful interface between the main classroom and the garden.
There are children’s toilets, a disabled toilet and the Nursery office. Outside, we have a very large and beautiful walled garden, including a sand pit, outside toys and the children’s garden patch, where we have successfully grown our own organic fruit and vegetables! All the food is cooked on site in our kitchen and the children eat together with the staff in the conservatory, creating a homely atmosphere which the children clearly thrive in. Upstairs we have two rooms that make up the Baby Unit for children between 3 months and 2 ¼ years of age, known as “Hedgehogs”. There is a separate sleep room for the children to ensure they are able to get proper sleep in a beautifully tranquil environment. We have a baby monitoring system and in addition, the babies are checked every fifteen minutes by a member of staff. |
